Plate Bearing Capacity Apparatus

The Plate Bearing Capacity Apparatus is designed to determine the in-situ bearing capacity of soils for applications including road construction, foundations, subgrades and highway pavements.

Systems are available in capacities from 100 kN (10 tonne) to 750 kN (75 tonne) and can be configured to suit specific testing requirements. A comprehensive range of accessories is available, including datum assemblies, dial gauge supports and digital readout systems with transducers.

Standard Equipment

• Hydraulic Jack & Cylinder – 250kN with 150 mm travel. (Available 100 , 500 or 750 kN capacities)
• Pressure Gauge – Provides clear indication of hydraulic pressure and applied load.
• Hydraulic Hand Pump & 3 m Hose – Robust steel construction with single or two-speed options depending on cylinder capacity.
• Bearing Plate – 300 mm diameter as standard. Alternative sizes of 450, 600 or custom sizes, are available.
• Datum Bar – 1.4 m length.
• Dial Gauge – 25 mm travel × 0.01 mm resolution. Digital
• Dial Gauge Support Assembly – Available to suit the selected gauge configuration.
